Welcome everyone! Saul Gevarter is very excited to work and serve NWSAD.  Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Saul reside in Plesanton, CA and works at California School for the Deaf, Fremont where he teaches teach physical education to K-12 students and coach the boys baseball team. When Saul is not doing either, you will find me playing softball (recreation and competitive), traveling, spending time with family or friends or just enjoying life! My goal as a Commissioner is to represent NWSAD well and make sure the tournament is enjoyable and memorable for everyone who attends! PLAY Ball!

Deputy Commissioner, Karen Atwood

A native of Seattle having graduated from Tyee Senior High School in 1972 where Karen Atwood was the first Deaf cheerleader that senior year, unpredictably she has gone on and done many “firsts” in my life, which leads to who she is today. [Even being the first mother of 2 & grandmother of 3 in my age group as my friends teased me.] To name a few “firsts”, Karen was the first Miss Deaf Washington queen in 1973; the first longest running woman president of NWRAD [Northwest Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf]; the first Women Softball Commissioner for NWAAD as well as the first woman president of NWAAD and was instructional in established women’s sport teams; one of the two Deaf workers to bring attention of the rights of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing postal workers to the national negotiation table in Washington DC twice with the U.S. Postal Service and American Postal Workers Union for better contract rights [Worked 28 years and retired]. Have time, will travel! She is for for teamwork, community support and meeting people!

Sport Information Director, Andy Campros

Graduated from Paso Robles High School, and Alumni of Galladuet University, Andy Campros has been employee of Department of Transportation, Transportation System Information Unit, for 20+ years. His main responsibility is to gather, monitor for quality purpose and research collision data, as sent in by various law enforcement agencies through out entire State of California, and working with civil engineers. He has volunteered his time between NWADB and NWSAD since 2004. He has successfully gathered entire history of softball organization, and set up cumulative history of Softball tournament and statistics after 4 years of work. He has been important part of NWSAD organization, by contributing in many ways since split of NWAAD into two organizations. He has worked with various tournament host and chairperson, facilitating many tournament from its opening until to the successful conclusion.

Rod Jex
Rod Jex, Secretary/Treasurer

Hello everyone, Rod Jex is looking forward to a bright future for  NWSAD. You may wonder what experience he brings. He is a Deaf CPA since 1994,  one of first Deaf Accountants to pass CPA exam and successful with first ADA  lawsuit in 1992 to bring access to hundreds of Deaf Accountants nationwide  for CPA review courses. Plus, lifetime member of NWSAD as player, coach  since 1983 started with Golden Spike Athletic Club of the Deaf from Ogden -  yes ancient history. Rod was born in Seattle, WA, and grew up in Northern  Utah. Currently, he works for the Department of the Treasury, helping to close the budget gap and protect the way of life we enjoy as Americans. In my spare  time, Rod is busy and involved with my kids, 4 boys and 2 girls, never a dull  moment. Rod is also involved with Deaf Spotlight, which is bringing the first Deaf Film Festival to Seattle in 2012. Come chat me up, he looks forward to working with the other outstanding officers of NWSAD to bring back some of the great stuff of the past and build an even better future for NWSAD!
