Commissioner

Saul Gevarter

Hi my name is Saul Gevarter. Born and raised in Long Island, New York. I attended University of Phoenix where I earned my BA. I then transferred to Maryland College and received my MA in Deaf Education. I am currently employed at the California School for the Deaf, Fremont. Where I am teaching Physical Education to students from K-12 grade. I am also the Head Varsity Baseball Coach. When I am not busy enjoying my time with my students and my team you can usually find me doing several different things. I enjoy traveling and playing competitive softball. When I’m not playing on the field I can often be found skiing in Tahoe during the winter months. My mission as Commissioner is to make sure that the NWSAD tournament is one that is enjoyable and memorable for everyone who attend. I look forward to seeing you there.

Matthew Spurgeon

I’m Matthew Spurgeon. I’m the father of two little ones, and  they are 4 and 2. I graduated at Gaulladet University in 2001 and I majored in Business Administration. Ihave been working as dental lab tech for over a decade. My hobbies are: I attend regularly to the gym 4 times weekly, and I also love to go to batting practice with my buddies who are Cory, Rod, Kevin and Ben. We do that twice weekly plus I have approximately 400 softballs in the trash can. Lastly, I spend my quality time with my children daily since they grow up rapidly.  I hope I would serve you better for NWSAD. See you around and don’t be afraid to say hi to me.

Andy Campros

Graduated from Paso Robles High School, and Alumni of Galladuet University,  Andy has been employee of Department of Transportation, Transportation  System Information Unit, for 20+ years. His main responsibility is to gather, monitor for quality purpose and research collision data, as sent in by various law enforcement agencies through out entire State of California, and working with civil engineers. He has volunteered his time between NWADB and NWSAD since 2004. He has successfully gathered entire history of softball organization, and set up cumulative history of Softball tournament and statistics after 4 years of work. He has been important part of NWSAD organization, by contributing in many ways since split of NWAAD into two organizations.  He has worked with various tournament host and chairperson, facilitating many tournament from its opening until to the successful conclusion.

Joan Drown

This is Joan Drown: I was raised in Twin Falls, Idaho and I currently live there. I graduated from Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind. After finishing A.A.S. from a college, I started working as a copy manager for 34 years. Recently, I retired from work in 2008. My positions at NWSAD have been a Secretary and Treasurer since 1999. Everyone calls me a “Mother Hen of NWSAD,” because I like to work with everyone to understand and resolve issues. I enjoyed being involved in NWSAD because it is where I get to meet people. I look forward to meeting and chatting with anyone.
